   Insurance Counseling

If you’re on Medicare, or soon will be eligible for Medicare, Southern Area Agency on Aging has answers to your questions about Medicare and related health insurance. Consultations are free, confidential, and just a phone call away.

  • Are you unsure about the differences between the traditional Medicare Program and the new Medicare Advantage Plans?

  • How can you find the Medicare drug plan that will save you the most money on your prescriptions? If you’re not taking any medicine at present, should you enroll in a Medicare drug plan?

  • What can you do if your Medicare drug plan doesn’t cover all the medicines
    you take?

  • Do you need information to help you get a better deal on Medicare supplement insurance?

  • Do you try to make ends meet, and wonder whether you can get any help from Medicaid?

  • Are you worried about medical bills that haven’t been paid by Medicare or by your supplement insurance?

  • Can you afford and benefit from long-term care insurance?

You need reliable information so you can make wise decisions, get the benefits you’re
entitled to, and know your rights. Southern Area Agency on Aging has the information and the answers you need.

Southern Area Agency on Aging’s Health Insurance Assistance Program is part of the
SHIP network of State Health Insurance Assistance Programs, and is funded in part
through a grant from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal
Medicare agency.
